Cardiac Technician

Cardiac Technicians help doctors in the diagnosis, monitoring and treatment of heart disorders. 

In this profession, you’ll perform tests on patients to record heart activity using specialised equipment, recording devices and laboratory instruments. 

Required Qualifications

To become a cardiac technician in South Africa, you will need the following qualifications:

  • Certificate: National Senior Certificate / NC(V) certificate
  • Diploma: National Diploma in Clinical Technology (admittance upon Specific requirements of the educational institution)
  • Bachelor’s Degree: Bachelor of Technology in Clinical Technology
  • Internship: 12-month internship

  • NSC / NC(V) certificate
